Welcome to Our Website
Withamside United Parish – celebrating all that is good and of God within our community.
Welcome to the Withamside United Parish, named for the River Witham, which meanders through or around our eight villages. We are home to six formal churches in Aubourn, Bassingham, Carlton le Moorland, Norton Disney, Stapleford and Thurlby, and one informal cafe-style church in Witham St Hughs.
Whether you are looking for the times of church services or to enquire about a christening or a wedding we hope that you find what you are looking for on this website. If not, please feel free to get in touch via email or phone (01522 788652).
Please Pray for Ukraine
The Archbishops of Canterbury and York’s prayer for Ukraine:
God of peace and justice,
We pray for the people of Ukraine today.
We pray for peace and the laying down of weapons.
We pray for all those who fear for tomorrow,
that your Spirit of comfort would draw near to them.
We pray for those with power over war or peace,
for wisdom, discernment and compassion
to guide their decisions.
Above all, we pray for all your precious children, at risk and in fear, that you would hold and protect them.
We pray in the name of Jesus, the Prince of Peace.
Amen.
We are sad to inform you that Rosie Davis (a former resident of Bassingham)
passed away last week in Aberdeen.
She will be cremated in Aberdeen but the family have arranged to have a Thanksgiving Service
at St Michael’s on the 19th June.
The time is to be confirmed and we will give you full details in due course.
St Mary’s is Reopening
We are pleased to let you all know that St Mary’s at Carlton will be open again from 1st June.
We’re sure we all look forward to viewing the works that have been
done there and well done to all involved.
Please see the notice below with details of the Service of Celebration and Re-Dedication.
