Our annual circulation to Carlton Le Moorland residents of Christmas Memory Stars cards was, once again, very well supported. We raised £256 towards our Church Improvement Appeal. The star has a note on each one, written by the person making the donation. It remembers someone who has died, a person you cannot be with at Christmas, to wish a loved one a Happy Christmas or dedicate a Christmas star instead of a Christmas Gift.
This year the stars we received back were carefully laminated and tied with red ribbons on a tree near the Christmas Crib so that people passing by could see them. At night they were illuminated by Christmas lights. This has become an annual event in the village. The stars were displayed outside this year as the church is having a toilet, baby changing facility and servery built and was therefore closed until completion at Easter.
