Dear Friends,
I am writing this month’s piece because Rev’d Andrew is, I believe, still
celebrating Lincoln City winning League One and moving up to the
Championship. He has been seen going about singing “Champions” with
considerable enthusiasm.
June arrives in Lincolnshire with its own quiet glory. The fields are growing high,
the hedgerows are thick with life, and the evenings stretch out generously, as
though God has given us a little extra daylight simply to notice things properly.
Gardens begin to look as if they know what they are doing, even if I am still not
entirely sure what half the plants are. Swallows cut through the sky, the verges
grow thick with grass and wildflowers, and village life takes on that familiar rural
mixture of busyness and beauty.
In the Church’s year, June often draws us into the long season after Pentecost.
After Easter joy, the Ascension, and the gift of the Holy Spirit, we are invited to
live out the faith we celebrate. This is perhaps the quieter challenge of Christian
life. It is one thing to rejoice that Christ is risen; it is another to let that hope shape
how we speak, forgive, serve, listen and care for one another in ordinary days.
Village life teaches this well. Faith is not only seen in great occasions, but in
small acts of kindness, neighbourliness and welcome.
That same spirit of welcome will shape our next Family Service on 28th June at
Thorpe on the Hill at 4.00 pm. There will be lively music, dancing, creative
crafts, and time to share the Gospel in ways that engage all ages. Please do join

We also have a Games Night at Thorpe-on-the-hill on the 24th June at 7:00pm.
So this June, may we rejoice in the light, give thanks for growth, and remember
that God is at work not only in grand victories, but also in the faithful, gentle
goodness of everyday life.
