Lincoln Community Larder

URGENT NOTICE

Food and fuel poverty are real issues for a significant section of our communities. People are having to choose whether to turn on the heating or to have a meal.

As you know the Parish collects food for the Lincoln Food Larder. Since the Covid pandemic the amount of food we have collected has reduced significantly.

I am trying to re-start our food giving in order to support the many disadvantaged families in Lincoln.

If you are able to donate food for the Lincoln Food Larder could you please bring it and leave it at the back of St Michael’s Church, Bassingham. I will then take it to the Larder. Only tins and dried food products please.

Thank you

Best wishes

John

The Lincoln Community Larder is a registered Charity which aims to relieve poverty in the Lincoln area through the provision of basic nutritious food and other basic amenities to those in need of short-term help. Run entirely by volunteers the Charity also supports those suffering from illness or special needs. The Charity works with a number of local front-line agencies who refer people in need of assistance. The Lincoln Community Larder gives 3 days’ worth of food for each person referred to them.

Withamside United Parish has supported the Lincoln Community Larder for a number of years through the regular collection of tinned and dried food. In addition, all Harvest collections of food are delivered to the Larder and the local Bassingham Primary School also donates all their Harvest food collections to the Larder.

We support the local foodbank and contributions are welcome. They can be left in the collecting box in St Michael’s Church, Bassingham.
